Important Dates

April 25 (Thursday)

MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) Testing

  • We will be testing your child’s reading skills in the computer lab.

  • Please make sure you discuss how important it is to “try your best” so we can get accurate scores to send to 1st Grade Teachers and families too!

May 2 (Thursday)

Family Fun Night @ JELV 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

  • This Family Fun Night will focus on the transition to 1st Grade for Kindergarteners, you will get to meet 1st Grade Teachers and Staff from each elementary school!

May 10 (Friday)

End of Year Celebration (LUAU)

  • Please make note of this, if you would like to attend. We will have awards at 2:00 in our library.

May 14 (Tuesday)

EKU Planetarium Field Trip

  • More information to come!

  • Please send your child to school in tennis shoes on this day. We will be doing a lot of walking.

May 20 (Monday)

GAMES Day

  • GAMES Day is similar to a field day. We will wear our classroom tie-dyed tee shirts on this day and will be playing fun activities outside. More information to come!

May 24 (Friday)

Last Day of Kindergarten

  • This will be the last day of school for students in Jessamine County.

  • Please make sure to never have your child use sounds to read sight words, sight words usually do not follow language rules. The 1st sound can be a clue, but not the entire word. Sight words are to be memorized, never sound out sight words
