Homework

As children enter Kindergarten, they are eager and ready to learn. These enthusiastic young students enjoy age-appropriate homework with assignments that provide successful learning experiences. All homework is leveled and differentiated to meet the learning needs of each student. Kindergarten homework lays the foundation for good work habits in later years. Furthermore, positive homework helps establish the home-school connection and involves you, the parents, as partners in your child's daily learning experiences.

  • Homework will be sent home on a MONTHLY basis in your child's T.I.G.E.R. Folder

  • Please return homework at the end of the month.

  • Homework consists of daily math or literacy activities to do with your child in your daily, everyday activites.

Homework Tips:

  • Homework should not exceed 15 minutes (you can set a timer as a visual and auditory reminder, such as the microwave or oven timer, usually Smartphones have a easy timer or you can download a timer app).

  • If your child becomes frustrated, stop for the evening.

  • The Parent Orientation booklet you will recieve or received in September at the Kindergarten Parent Orientation has a variety of tools that may be helpful in completing homework. You can also use the Homework Helpers that are in your child's T.I.G.E.R. Folder behind the Behavior Calendar to assist as needed.
