Class Picture Day and Next Week!


We hope everyone had a wonderful Winter Break!

I have missed our students! It has been a wonderful week back.

I am thinking of having a UK Day and Popcorn (provided by our school) Party on Tuesday and a PAJAMA DAY on Friday since we have filled up our "Warm & Fuzzy" Jar as a whole class 2 times this week! Doing a great job as a whole class!

Important Dates:

1/17 (Thursday)- Picture Day!

  • Our class will be taking a group picture on this day. If you would like a class picture, please make sure to send back the envelope to purchase one for $7.00 by Thursday!

1/18 (Friday)- Report Cards

  • Report Cards will be sent home on Friday. Please sign and return the envelope and you can keep all of the paperwork.

Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) Packet

In the event of a Snow Day, where students do not attend school, students are to complete work at home.

This work was sent home in your child’s folder. It consists of a Packet of Snow Day Work. Please keep this work in the back pocket of your child’s folder so it does not get lost.

  • Beginning Sounds

  • Sight Words:

  • List A- am, at, can. go, is, like, me, see, the, to

  • List B- dad, he, in, it, look, mom, my, on, up, we

  • List C- and, are, come, for, got, here, not, play, said, you

  • List D- day, down, into, looking, she, they, went, where, will, your

  • Please make sure to never have your child use sounds to read sight words, sight words usually do not follow language rules. The 1st sound can be a clue, but not the entire word. Sight words are to be memorized, never sound out sight words

Writing:

  • Labeling pictures with beginning sounds

  • Stretching out words verbally to write the sounds

Writing predictable sentences “I like _____.” or “I see a ______.”
