Homework
We are working on being more independent in Kindergarten in preparation for 1st Grade. Things like zipping zippers, buttons, opening milk, water and chip bags. However, the trickiest one is learning to tie shoelaces.
Please help your child learn to tie their shoes!
Our Social and Emotional Learning Lessons from our Second Step Curriculum this week was focused on Following Directions. We sent home an activity for your child to complete about following directions
What Are We Learning Next Week?
Social & Emotional Learning: Self Talk for Staying on Task
Book(s)/Poem(s): The Isty Bitsy Spider
Concepts of Print :words are written & read left to right, top to bottom
Letter(s) & Sound: Review of all letters Aa-Zz
Math: numerals, amounts, counting, one to one correspondence & sorting
Reminders:
You can also place any type of note in the zipper pouch in your child’s T.I.G.E.R. Folder.
It could be a note for transportation, absence, doctor, dentist and so on.
Please send in an extra set of clothes for your child, just in the case of an accident, if you have not sent in extra clothes already.
Please initial your child’s behavior calendar inside of their T.I.G.E.R. Folder every night.
When you initial it, please take a few moments to talk about your child’s day together.
Thank you for doing this at home! It helps at school when your child knows that you will discuss their day with them.
Remember that it will only be colored in if your child was on any color other than green. If the calendar is left blank, it means your child had a great day on green!
If your child was on green, blue or purple remember to celebrate a great day! It could be their favorite dinner or dessert, a trip to the park, a movie night, a family game night, getting to visit a nearby family member, or any other reward you think your child would enjoy!
