Next Week is Our Music Concert


Important Dates:

March 15th (Thursday) – Kindergarten Music Concert

  • Every year, our Kindergarten students perform a concert for families in our JELV Gym.

  • Since there are 27 kindergarten classrooms, we must have different times for performances.

  • Our classroom performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

  • Please arrive early to park and find a spot to sit in the GYM.

  • 10 minutes before the concert (at 7:20 p.m.) Teachers will meet their class in the CAFETERIA to prepare for the performance.

  • Students are asked to wear BLACK for their performance.

  • Plain black shirt, any kind of pants- black dress is fine too!

April 2nd - 6th (Monday- Friday)

  • Spring Break

  • No School for students.

Monday (Day 4) –Music

Tuesday (Day 5) –Art

Wednesday (Day 1) –Science

Thursday (Day 2) –Library

Friday (Day 3) –Gym

What Are We Learning Next Week?

Math:

  • ways to make 5 and 10

  • beginning addition with symbols (+ and =)

  • Math Vocabulary: “equal”, “add”, “all together”, “in all”, “sum”

  • Beginning Subtraction, without symbols

Reading:

  • Medial/Vowel Sounds

  • Ending Sounds

  • CVC Words (3 letter words)

  • “Chunks”- Sounds of sh, ch, th, wh

  • Sight Words:

  • Please remember to NEVER have your child SOUND OUT sight words, they just need to be memorized because they do not follow English Language Rules.

  • List 1-

  • the, to, and, a, I, you, it, in, said, for, look, up, is, go, little, we, down, can, see, not, one, my, blue, big, come, me

  • List 2-

  • red, jump, where, away, here, help, make, yellow, two, play, run, find, three, funny, he, was, that, she,

Writing:

  • Labeling pictures with beginning, medial and ending sounds

  • Stretching out words verbally and writing the letters that we hear

  • Writing pattern stories and sentences. “I see ….” or “I like….”

  • Writing a Personal Narrative
