Next Week and Valentine's Day

Important Dates

2/14 (Wednesday)- Valentine’s Day

  • You may send in valentines with your child but please have them write only their name on the “from” part of the card. This makes it easier for the kids to give their cards out!

  • We will be passing out valentines in class on, February 14th. Please send in Valentines by Tuesday, February 13th.

  • We will also be making our valentines bags in Art. It is okay if you would like to make a special bag or box to place your child’s Valentines in, but not required.

  • We currently have 24 students in our classroom.

2/19 (Monday)- No School (President’s Day)

Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) or “SNOW DAY” Work

  • Our district has requested that we have 10 Non-Traditional Instruction Days on Snow Days for us to not make school days up by adding the days onto the end of the school year. Therefore, your child must complete the Snow Day Work and turn it in.

  • As winter nears and colder weather approaches, it is very important to make sure you know where your child’s Non-Traditional Instruction Packet (also called “NTI Work” or “Snow Day Work”) is located.

  • The Non-Traditional Instruction Packet is placed in the back pocket of your child’s folder. Please leave this packet in the folder so it can easily be found on a Snow Day.

  • In the event of a Snow Day, students are to complete the work for that day, and if it is completed and turned in, the student will be counted as present for attendance.

Homework

Please help your child learn to tie their shoes! If you already know, you have no homework!

If you are interested in extra practice for your child, you can have your child work on a computer or iPad to work on skills specifically for your individual child. Please check your child’s zipper pouch in their folder for their Clever Log In Card.

  • If you would like to work on skills at home. Please consider using your child’s CLEVER QR CODE to play on LEXIA, DREAMBOX or READING A-Z!

  • Go to http://www.jessamine.kyschools.us/

  • Then click on the “For Students” tab

  • Scroll down to “Clever Log In”

  • Click on the CLEVER BADGE Log In and use your device’s camera to scan your child’s “Clever Badge” – it’s a QR Code.

  • Hold up the “Clever Badge until a Green Check Mark comes on.

  • Students can then choose to play Lexia, Dreambox or Reading A-Z (“Robot Game”)
