Family Homework Project
In class, we have read the story, Turkey Trouble by Wendi Silvano. In the story, the turkey tries to disguise himself to escape being Thanksgiving dinner. A turkey was sent home in your child’s folder today. Please help your turkey by disguising it to make it safely past Thanksgiving this year! This is meant to be a fun activity to complete with your child and to get them to discuss the story.
Please return Turkeys to school by Thursday, 11-17. Thank you!
Homework
Homework was sent home in your child’s folder last week. It is a monthly homework calendar with activities to complete each day of the month.
Please only return the homework calendar when it has been completed at the end of the month.
If you would like to work with your child more at home, you are welcome to use Lexia or
Dreambox on your computer, tablet or phone. The login information was sent home in your child’s folder and is also available on our classroom website.
Lexia is a reading program and Dreambox is a math program.
Please let your child work independently on Lexia or Dreambox, each program is designed to help your child when they do not understand concepts and challenge them at a higher level when they master concepts. If you chose the responses for your child, it makes the games TOO DIFFICULT for your child and they will not learn the skill or concept.
Raz-Kids
We have purchased Raz-Kids for the students in our classroom. Raz-Kids helps your child learn to read by practicing reading and comprehension skills with books online at their individual reading level. We have been using it in our classroom and you can use it at home on your computer or tablet.
Go to www.kidsa-z.com and enter my username rlindle and your child will chose their first name to get started.
The app is called Kids A-Z and has a robot if you need to download it to a tablet or phone!
