UK Day and Next Week!

Important Dates:

  • 9/30 (Friday) – Scholastic Book Orders DUE

  • 9/28 (Wednesday) – U.K. Day!

  • We filled up our “Warm & Fuzzy” Jar by following the 5 STEPS as a whole class. Our class voted to have a Kentucky Wildcats Day! Please send your child to school in any U.K. Clothing or wearing BLUE and/or WHITE on this day.

  • 10/4 (Tuesday) – JELV Fundraisers DUE

  • Our Fundraiser Packet was sent home with your child in their folder this week. It is due on Tuesday to allow time to ship items to the school to distribute to students for orders.

  • 10/6 (Thursday) – Picture Day!

  • Students will take individual student pictures on this day. Pictures must be PRE-PAID for before this day. Please check your child’s folder for more information.

  • 10/6 (Friday) – “Hoedown” Family Fun Night

  • Our Family Fun Night will take place at JELV from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Check your child’s folder for more detailed information about the activities and events on this night.

  • 10/7 (Friday) – Field Trip!

  • We have reserved buses for our Field Trip and will be going to Devine’s Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze.

  • 10/10-10/14 (Monday- Friday) -NO SCHOOL

Homework

  • We are working on being more independent in Kindergarten in preparation for 1st Grade. Things like zipping zippers, buttons, opening milk, water and chip bags. However, the trickiest one is learning to tie shoe laces.

  • Please help your child learn to tie their shoes! If you already know, you have no homework!

Scholastic Book Orders

  • We have signed up our classroom to be able to order books from the Scholastic Book Club!

  • We will be sending home catalogs in upcoming weeks or you may only order online at any time. Ordering online provides you with a greater selection of books and the ability to search details and deals. The books ordered online will be sent to the school and then placed in your child's backpack when it arrives. Make sure to enter our Classroom Code ( JGRKX ), which tells Scholastic where to ship the books.

  • If you chose to order using the paper catalog sent home, please send your payment in a check or money order to school and we will enter the order online for you and send your check in the mail to Scholastic. The books will be sent to JELV and we will send them home in your child’s backpack when they arrive.

  • You can go to the Scholastic Book Club website at:

  • If you are a first time user, you have to register by creating a username and password, it is FREE!

  • Make sure to enter our classroom code: JGRKX
