The LAST WEEK of Kindergarten!

Important Dates:

May 16 (Monday)

Transition to 1st Grade Visit

• To help students transition to 1st Grade at a new school. Teachers from JELV will take your child to visit their 1st Grade school for a portion of this day. –

May 19 (Tuesday)- NO SCHOOL

May 18 (Wednesday)

End of Year Celebration (LUAU)

• We had to change our end of the year celebration, which will be LUAU themed from Friday, May 20th to Wednesday, May 18th.

• We will have classroom awards and play fun, luau-themed games at 1:00 in our classroom.

• Please have your child dress in LUAU themed attire on this day. We talked about how we can just wear something we already have and you do not have to buy anything. Some examples are:

• Tie Dye Shirts

• Hawaiian Shirts

• Pirate Shirts

• Ocean Colored Shirts/Dresses

• Flower Shirts or Dresses

• Leis (Leis have been purchased for each child)

• Grass Skirts (Dollar Tree)

May 19 (Thursday)

GAMES Day

• GAMES Day is similar to a field day. We will wear our classroom tie-dyed tee shirts on this day and will be playing fun activities outside. Please make sure to put sunscreen on your child in the morning if your child needs it, we will not be able to apply it on the child during the day.

May 20 (Friday)

Last Day of Kindergarten

• This will be the last day of school for students in Jessamine County, it is a half-day, dismissal will be at 10:45 a.m.

• Your child will receive both BREAKFAST and LUNCH on this day.

• Please write a note for us if your child is going to go home a DIFFERENT WAY due to the EARLY DISMISSAL TIME. If we do not receive any notes, we will send your child home the way that they always go home.

Specials Schedule:

Monday (Day 2)– Gym

• Please have your child wear tennis shoes on this day.

Tuesday – No School

Wednesday– on the TRACK

Thursday– GAMES DAY!

• Please have your child wear tennis shoes on this day, please NO FLIP FLOPS since they will be running.

• We will also be outside for most of the day. Please make sure you dress your child in attire that will not be too hot.

• Please apply sunscreen on your child before they come to school.

Friday – NO SPECIALS

• There will be NO SPECIALS since it is an Early Release Day at 10:45 a.m.

• Please let us know if your child will be going home a DIFFERENT WAY due to the EARLY RELEASE on this day, otherwise we will send your child home the way they always go home.
