Family Fun Night, Healthy Day Out and other Kindergarten News!

NO HOMEWORK in MAY!

Happy Mother’s Day! Check your child’s backpack for a special gift! We hope you enjoy it!
We took the final MAP test of the year. We will send home parent reports as soon as we receive them from the office.
If you do not plan on ordering spring pictures, please send them back with a note so we know to take them out of your child’s folder. Please return payments or non-purchase portraits by Wednesday, May 20th.
Please send in any Box Tops you have for our BOX TOPS CHALLENGE!
During the last few weeks of school, students will practice their lunch numbers instead of telling the cafeteria their first and last name, this is in preparation for first grade. Please help your child practice their number by using the “number pad” sent home in their folder. This resembles what the cafeteria uses for students to enter in their number.

May 12th – Transition Family Fun Night at JELV from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Stop by to learn more about 1st Grade, get to meet 1st Grade Teachers from each school and learn about 1st Grade!

May 14th – Healthy Day Out 12:05- 12:55

Mrs. Rhodes, our Gym Teacher would like to invite all of our families to join us for our "Healthy Day Out"
We will be going out to the track to walk and have fun while getting our bodies strong.
If you have little ones in strollers, please feel free to bring them.
If you can join us, please remember to SIGN IN at the MAIN OFFICE before making your way to the GYM.
We will meet as a class in the GYM before we go out to the TRACK.

May 15th- DRA Assessment

Developmental Reading Assessment is given to students in our classroom. We will be assessing your child’s individual reading level.

May 19th- No School (Election Day)

May 25th- No School (Memorial Day)

May 26th- Luau at 1:30 p.m. in the classroom

We will hand out awards to students and celebrate!
Our district will not allow a graduation ceremony, as many of you have asked, so we will have a fun celebration for the end of the year.
Please save this date if you are able to join us!
Be on the look out for “Luau themed” attire for your child, such as, leis, grass skirts and Hawaiian shirts! (Usually you can find these items at the Dollar Tree for $1.)

May 27th- Last Day of School/Early Dismissal

Students will be dismissed at 10:45 a.m.
Please let us know if your child will be going home a different way on this day, if no action is taken, then your child will be sent home as usual

Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to the JELV library on Monday, May 4 - Tuesday, May 12. The book fair will be open from 9:00-3:00.
We will also be open for Family Fun Night on Tuesday, May 12 from 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m.
- On this night you can come purchase books to support the library, meet and take pictures with Clifford, and enter your child's name in a drawing for prizes!
